The SCENECS International Debut Film Festival (est. 2006) offers new directors and producers from all over the world the opportunity to show their first (or second) film on the big screen. Every year in May the festival is being held in Hilversum, the media capital of The Netherlands.
SCENECS International Film Festival was established by festival director Arya Tariverdi. Arya graduated as film director in London and has been director and end producer of the film and television manufacturer ATP Film Company since 1998. Besides his leading function at ATP, Arya is also very active in other areas of art and culture and participates in various boards within the film and media industry.
Alongside the board, a passionate management team consisting of film lovers and professionals, are commited to make SCENECS a big succes. They are assisted by many enthusiastic volunteers. The jury, consisting of reputable men and women from the film and television industy, judges the entered films with great care and pick the annual winners of The Dutch Golden Stone – SCENECS official award.
The SCENECS International Debut Filmfestival is part of SCENECS Dutch Film Institute. Both organizations strive to stimulate film talent and manufacturing in The Netherlands and the rest of the world.
Board and council
The board of the foundation is presided by Arya Tariverdi, Hans van Riemsdijk and Laurens Martina. The board is supervised by a council which keeps track of the policy and advises and supports if necessary. The supervisors of SCENECS are: Mr. Jos Stelling (film director and producer), Mr. Henk Brink (alderman of Economics, Work and Vocational education in Eindhoven) and Mr. Ben Groenendijk (head editor NTR).
